A day late, but I purchased the magazines to send to my swap partner for the great Magazine Swap! It’s all packed and ready to mail today at lunch. Yipee!
It was so fun to shop and look for magazines that I wouldn’t normally search out. I found a couple of really great ones that I had to also buy for myself. I’ll tell you about them later, once she’s received them. Don’t want to spoil the surprise! :)
A huge THANKS to Cotton Strudel for organizing the swap. Over a hundred participants around the world. Wow!

One of the sources for inspiration to get this blog started up again was Cotton Strudel’s Magazine Swap.

I’m super excited about my correspondence with my International Swap buddy, and going to my local magazine shop tonight. A little bit last minute, as we are supposed to be mailing on Wednesday (tomorrow!) but my swap buddy has provided me with lots fo great ideas for what she would love to receive. A fun visit to the Magpie Magazine Gallery on Commercial Drive (my FAVE shop… droool…) is just what the inpiration doctor ordered!! I’m sure I will walk out with a few gems of my own, along with some magazine gifties for my swap!
Studio news! I started to clean off my work table, and am making a dent in the moving boxes! Yipee!! I sorted most of the boxes off my table back in to boxes (I DID say “sorted”) with their lovley labels: “sewing” “weaving” “design & drawing” “tools” Of course the table is full once again, but it is sorted, and a great start! Gotta love that momentum! I couldn’t wait to get home yesterday to do some more, though the heat wave made doing anything upright completely unthinkable. Dinner (yay BBQ!), and watching Batman movies all night on TBS were the only things accomplished. (oh and some webdesign with The D for a client of ours).
Tonight will be some more sorting, and hopefully wrapping up a magazine to send to Portugal. After my greatly needed Pilates stretching… ahhhh…

Finally a new post. I guess, I’m just about right on schedule.. a year and a half before the last post, and now almost 2 years until this one! Yikes!
Not much has changed, and yet, everything has changed. I still have yet to start up my glorious loom (see my post below), in fact it has been sitting disassembled in my studio since we moved into the house 5 whole month ago. I still continue to spend much more time on work for others than on my work for myself. I continue to be inspired by the wonders of handmade objects around me, but now, (** here comes the great change-y part **) with the glorious selection of personal blogs by all kinds of makers out there in the web-o-sphere, the level to which I get inspired on a daily basis has grown exponentially!! I am in awe of all of you! and, well, that’s what is inspiring me to start up the blog once again. I am itching to make things, and itching to post images (just signed up for flickr - that’s exciting!), and too, I am very excited to be writing again.
there will be more… I have lots to share!
But, first things first. We are having our housewarming bbq this weekend, and there is lots to prepare for that (who knew cooking could be fun!) But then… [insert celebratory horns here] I will be tackling my studio; which will include assembling my beautiful loom. I can’t wait to tell you all about it!
